R&D
The R&D team develops our XR waveguide engineering expertise to ensure that Dispelix remains the industry forerunner – the producer of best-in-class waveguides.
The team aims for design wins, gives technical support to Sales, and co-creates the best XR waveguide technologies together with customers.
The R&D team consists of experts in modern optics with a focus on nanophotonics, experts in computational physics and mathematics, and experts in micro and nanofabrication – with most holding a PhD.
The team solves fundamental challenges related to diffractive waveguide technology with the practicalities of manufacturing in mind, in some cases developing entirely new manufacturing concepts. The R&D team is our key to generating new knowledge and innovations and pushing the boundaries of XR waveguide technology.
The Waveguide Designers in the R&D team create new design concepts and develop waveguides with optical and visual performance that exceeds user expectations. They develop new architectures, geometries, and designs using our proprietary software. And together with the Software team, they develop simulation capabilities that help us accurately reproduce the optical performance of our waveguides.
Our Manufacturing Engineers guarantee easy transfer from design to prototypes in close cooperation with the Waveguide Designers. They operate with state-of-the-art micro and nanofabrication tools in the cleanroom, developing manufacturing concepts and processes to enable rapid, high-quality prototyping.
The Manufacturing Engineers turn designs into physical samples, which are validated using metrology tools. The samples verify the simulated performance and are typical deliverables for our internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate
The R&D team is looking for talent who can independently perform research. Your creativity is often put to the test to address the requirements set by customers and develop new technology concepts. R&D relies heavily on teamwork, with contributions from experts in waveguide design, nanofabrication, and metrology. While specific waveguide know-how is very much appreciated, it’s not an absolute must.
